Ellen Turner

In Mature Company

In Mature Company is part of Time to Shine programme and funded through National Lottery Community Fund’s Ageing Better. It explores the impact of touch and uses Dementia Care Mapping as a research tool to better understand the impact of the sessions. The project deliver's a range of one-to-one sessions for people within their own rooms, small group sessions and larger group session. Ellen has been artist lead since 2018 and manages a team that includes an assistant dance artist, a musician and volunteers.

Leaps & Bounds

Leaps and Bounds is part of a partnership with Leeds Adult Social Care to create opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. The workshops encourage participants to take part in group activities that combine movement, fun and dance in a sociable environment. The programme which is coming into its 11th year, has had great success and Ellen became lead artist of the project in 2018. Throughout lockdown, the artistic team have continued to deliver to participants using pre-recorded workshops, live video sessions and activity boxes. Due to its popularity- the programme is now being extended with additional workshops happening in early March.

MADE

MADE was a weekly creative dance class welcoming all adults aged 18+. Members have a variety of dance experience and include people with no dance background and with limited mobility. Ellen lead MADE from 2018.
